19 Kids and Counting

Not gonna lie. I love the Duggars. They're like my role model. I wish I had half the patience Jim Bob and Michelle have.

I'm a fan of them on facebook and every so often they do interview clips. This one almost made me cry. I'm a sap.

As much as I dont believe in most of what they do, I love that show. It's quite interesting to see what goes on in such a big family, ya know?

Yea I don't believe in the whole "preventing pregnancy is wrong" thing, but pretty much all their other beliefs, I agree with. They truly live the Fruits of the Spirit.

I think them being huge believers in "religion" type stuff is what turns me off. I'm the complete opposite. Heck, they'd see me as a devil worshipper LOL!!!!

I completely agree with you Susy, "they truly live the fruits of the spirit". I admire the strength they have in their faith, it amazes me. I too don't fully agree on the preventing pregnancy is wrong topic, but that isnt an issue on belief or salvation that is a personal choice each family has to make. I love their show and how great of role models they are to the rest of the world Go 19 kids and counting!!!

Yea and I can definately see how they think that. Because the Bible does say "Children are a blessing. Blessed is the man who's quiver is full of them." And we do have a mandate to reproduce.

But we also need to be responsible about it. Some people can't handle the emotional or financial stress of having more than a couple kids.

That's why tyler and I are really just taking it one kid at a time. If we can handle it we'll keep having more.

oh man i was gonna post on this show in our bg! LOL im watching it right now and im not gonna lie, i LOVE this show. I really admire their family. I agree with you susy that they definitely show the fruits of the spirit and I just pray my kids are like that! hahaha
Ya know, I told Miles I dont know that I will ever protect again, not saying we will have 19 kids lol but Idk I just dont know how I could protect after wanting to be a mother so badly. HAHA I probably sound crazy, but if we end up thinking enough is enough, then he is getting snipped, but I seriously doubt even that will happen.

I like the duggars, there are some things I don't agree with but to each is own right? My big concern is michelle almost died along with the new baby, the dr. says they shouldn't have more, yet they're not preventing?! To me thats pretty much stupid, if she ends up pg again and her, and the baby have a high chance of dying, not to mention is it responsible to leave 19 kids without a mom? Just my opinion. I am all for having as many kids as you can (if you can) but if that means risking your life when you have other kids that need you it isn't the smartest idea.

Yea I'm on the fence on that one. Clearly too many pregnancies (and especially csections) can take their toll on your body. But she only delivered early with this one due to pre eclampsia. Which has nothing to do with how many kids she's had.
The main risk at this point I think, is having a child with Downs, or miscarriage.
